The view, the vista. Expending energy has its own reward, but in general, we push to get to the top. Or at least a viewpoint. What is it that causes us to look for that vantage?
We have as many answers as seekers, I’m sure. Perhaps more. Regardless, looking from above provides an opportunity for reflection. A chance to breathe. A moment to be.
Sometimes that there is no vista is the vista.

By accident one day, while searching for a composition that pleased me (who’s it all about, after all), I wasn’t paying attention to my camera settings. Oops. Overexposed images. Huh, I thought. So I played with them. From then on, blowing out the background became the point, became part of the fun.
It’s also fun to represent simply that which is in front of you.
